In a beautiful setting... In the perfect dress... In the best of company. This was my wedding at Half Moon in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Residing in New York, I am often asked why I decided on a destination wedding. Who could turn down a Caribbean vacation shared with your entire family and best friends?! Our week-long celebration was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that my hubby and I cherished, as we soaked up the rays and relaxed in the lap of luxury.
Finally, after a year of planning, our special day had arrived! The morning excitement was slightly overshadowed by gray skies and turbulent rain; a bride's worst nightmare for an outdoor event. Nonetheless, I struggled to maintain composure and carry on with the day, just as we had planned it. I would not compromise this vision I had been dreaming-up for so long.

And just like clockwork, the rain came to a hault as we decided it was time to venture out and take pictures. Our wonderful photographers took advantage of the exquisitely lush grounds of the resort. David snapped away with the groomsmen, while Ileana captured the ladies with effortless style. It was just a matter of time until I walked down the aisle to exchange vows with the love of my life.

The wedding ceremony, just before sunset was peaceful and serene. The calm ocean waves served as the perfect backdrop to the graceful harmony of the violin and piano. I’ll never forget the overwhelming feeling of joy, as I saw my husband-to-be and slowly made my way towards him. Our wedding party joined us one by one at the chuppa, beautifully adorned with white orchids, bamboo and wild branches. The Rabbi conducted a lovely, heartfelt service and finally pronounced us husband and wife, just as Adam broke the glass. Mazel Tov! It was now time for our first romantic photo shoot as a married couple.

Meanwhile, cocktail hour had begun, situated around a grand geometric pool with passed Hors d'œuvre and the authentic Jamaican steel drums, chiming off in the background. The reception followed seamlessly; an open-air space flooded with candlelight, white orchids and draped silks. Comfy couches and palm trees draped in white lights lined the lower level of the venue; another space to lounge and marvel at the Caribbean sea. The food was plentiful and had just the right balance of traditional favorites blended with unmistakable Caribbean flavor. The dream-like evening was elegant and romantic. The mood was casual and relaxed, but there was certainly some intense partying going on! We concluded the affair by surprising our guests with a fun bonfire on the beach. Our friends and family gathered around us, as we declared that the “after-party” was just beginning! Everyone had a ball! My wedding day is certainly one that I will treasure for all time.
